The Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical & Historical Society (PRRT&HS), a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation, is a qualified independent 501(c)(3) Chapter of the Society.
The Chapter was formed, by members of the society interested in the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR). The Chapter strives to preserve the history and memory of the Pennsylvania Railroad operations in the greater Philadelphia area. It publishes the “High Line/Keystone Chronicles” magazine on an annual basis. Newsletters are also issued.
The Chapter meets four (4) times a year at the Drexel Hill Methodist Church, located at 600 Burmont Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. A sixth meeting is often held at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Strasburg, Pennsylvania.
Meeting days include a Modelers Meeting, where a PRR modeling topic is presented by knowledgeable guests or chapter members. The modelers meeting is followed by the Dining Car, where lunch is provided for a nominal fee. This is a favorite among members, allowing time to catch up with friends and guests alike. The Business Meeting follows, with chapter committee reports, new business etc... All business meetings are followed by Entertainment, which generally covers some aspect of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Presenters are often special guests or chapter members, some of which worked for the PRR. Numerous vendor and exhibit tables are always on display offering photographs, literature and railroad memorabilia - an opportunity to enhance your collection.
Almost half of our membership is actively involved in modeling, collecting and preserving PRR equipment and images.
The active information interchange between members and that offered to the public through our publications and internet activity, is greatly enhanced by the many long time rail fans and former PRR employees among our membership.
Chapter members possess many areas of interest, experience and expertise.
Persons with a sincere interest in the PRR are invited to join the Philadelphia Chapter.
